Chelsea law passed today, provides mandatory life sentences for violent sex crimes against children

As a mother, I was so happy to hear that our legislators passed “Chelsea law” today.

Named after the slain San Diego high school girl, Chelsea King, the law will provide mandatory life sentences for violent sex crimes against children, also the sex offense parole guidelines will be strengthen and will require lifelong tracking of certain sex offenders.

Seeing this girl parents in tears on Internet today broke my heart; I am sending all my gratitude to them, I admire their courage, perseverance and fight to make all our kids a little bit safer through their pain. I cannot imagine how much sorrow and happiness they felt today; sorrow for the fact that if this law had been in effect one year ago their daughter will still be alive and happiness that they were able to do something noble to keep her “still alive“ in people consciousness.

A great thank you King family and also thank you to our legislators which all agreed today to put  a small stop in the road of those hideous characters called “sex offenders”. And in case you wondered, this is how the US sex offenders map looks like…

Circus Vargas in SoCal, $10 off coupon and schedule

As a kid I was always from some reason fascinated by the circus, perhaps I found their energy, talent and dedication hard to match in any other type of shows. Now as a mother I want my kids to see that fascination and appreciate not only the show but also the hard work of those people which bring so much excitement and joy in our lives with each show and number that they perform.

I followed the news for a while about circus Vargas http://circusvargas.com/  since I found plenty of good  reviews I  decided to make time in the near future and take my two boys to one of their shows. But tickets are pricy, ranging from 15$ back seat for child to 60$ VIP adult seat: http://www.goestores.com/catalog.aspx?Merchant=circusvargas&DeptID=267307

Like anyone else out there I want to save money and I started to look for discounted tickets: and I found this 10$ off for kids 2-10 years old in arena area coupon, which is great for my kids…. Continue to read Circus Vargas in SoCal, $10 off coupon and schedule

Simi Valley days

This year will be the 26 th consecutive anniversary of Simi Valley ’s days celebration. Simi Valleys days will start with a parade on Saturday, September 11 and a 5/10K marathon. The carnival and merchant fair will be hold on Rancho Simi Community Park (Corner of Erringer and Royal), from  Wednesday thru Sunday September 15-19, 2010.

REGULAR ADMISSION:

· Adults $7.00
· Children 4-12 $4.0
· seniors 60 and Older $4.00
*WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 15TH ONLY
ADMISSION IS 50% OFF AND RIDES ARE A DOLLAR EACH

We have been there every year with my seven years old son and really enjoyed; there are plenty of rides for his age and for smaller kids too. Both the rides and the carnival are right withing the park so the kids can also use the park’s entertainment areas as well –  slides, go to the lake, etc. The food is very diverse and everybody can find something, my son loves the funnel cake ;)

The parade can be very enjoyable for kids too, they have goodie bags and candies…old nice cars, our local politicians which will be over present this year due to the election…clubs, sportive organizations, schools, etc…

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday parents can check up the local merchants and fill their bags with goodies, music will be present every day. This year the organizer will celebrate the rock and roll of the sixties…great for grandparents but it will entertain the youngsters as well…like Saturday Kids-A-Palooza (session for all kids talents) and Sycamore battle of the bands where three bands will compete for a grand prize of $2000.

Check after the break for more info and map
